Well connected
Being in the East Midlands, West Bridgford is pretty much the centre of the universe, sorry, the UK. It’s a mile from Nottingham city centre, Leicester is less than 25 miles away and East Midlands airport is just a 20-minute drive out of town.
The Trent & Holme Pierrepont
The Trent – about 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from our properties – divides Nottingham and West Bridgford and is the perfect place to while away an idle Sunday afternoon. There are some lovely walks along the river or if you prefer something more energetic, you can cycle round The Big Track, a 12-mile circular ride along the local waterways. It’s also a great spot for runners and not surprisingly rowers and dragon boaters too.
If you’re really into your watersports Holme Pierrepont, home to the National Watersports Centre, is only two miles outside West Bridgford. You can get involved in all sorts of exciting activities there, including white water rafting, wakeboarding, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and power boating.
There’s also the sky trail for children, as well as mini golf and segways, you can even try open water swimming – but we’d much rather go to Rushcliffe Leisure Centre to swim!
If you’re more of a sports fan than a participator, West Bridgford is the perfect place to stay. Trent Bridge cricket ground is just along Bridgford Road (where the Ashes are being hosted from August 6 to 10 this year), the City Ground (home to Nottingham Forest) is next door, and Meadow Lane (where Notts County plays) is the other side of the river, all within easy walking distance of our serviced apartments.
A night on the town
People from Nottingham and Nottinghamshire travel to West Bridgford for a night out, it’s the place to go whether you’re looking for a cold beer at the end of the day, a meal out with friends or to dance the night away. We’ve got loads of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from, including Carluccio’s, escabeche, Copper, The Parlour, Côte and Yumacha.
And finally, the park
Sometimes you just need somewhere to take the paper and chill out and our gorgeous local park is right in the middle of town opposite Central Avenue. If the sun’s shining you can grab an ice cream from Alfresco or if the weather isn’t so great they do excellent coffees. And if the family is visiting that weekend, there’s a brilliant children’s playground and an outdoor gym in the park too.
