Boarding Schools in the East Midlands and UK
The East Midlands, as well as the UK has many excellent boarding schools. The "catchment' for boarding schools can be wider because the travelling distance has less impact on the week/term and this is not a legal term for boarding schools, just a practical consideration.
In modern UK boarding schools children can usually opt between weekly, half termly, termly or even daily boarding - ie for some children it will be helpful to always stay at school on a Wednesday night for example and this, increasingly can be an option, especially when a school has a mixture of day and boarding children.
So it is worth considering what would be best for your child, given your work / life schedule and theirs.
Some schools only accept children who board - to be a "day boy" in a boarding school has social implications which children can find difficult.
Many of there more famous UK boarding schools start at year 9, aged 13.
Sometimes the boarding schools which accept younger children are called Prep Schools and they are there in order to prepare the child for a certain boarding school usually located near the Prep School.
We have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the UK boarding school system, not limited to which schools have particular specialisms and how to help your child hurdle the academic test which most of these schools have in order to assess the chances that the child will do well at that particular school.
