West Bridgford has a huge range of local restaurants, bars and cafés - both established names like Carluccio's, Pizza Express, Caffè Nero and Costa, as well as independent ones, including escabeche for Spanish Tapas, Copper for coffee & cake as well as good food, Cured & last but by no means least the wonderful Taste - where you get a small taste of Italy - food, drink & service - these are all on the two main streets, Central Avenue and Melton Road.
On the Melton Road shops there is also the wonderful Hambleton Bakery for fresh bread & pastries as well as Paolo's Seafood which is on a site which has been a Fishmonger since 1917 & C Brumpton Butchers which is a few cuts above your average supermarket meat!
Whichever apartment you stay in you won't be more than five minutes' walk from a delicious meal, coffee or cocktail, or independent shop.
Just off Central Avenue is Bridgford park with a large children's playground, well kept tennis courts and plenty of space for picnics and exercise & walks. There are also numerous hairdressers, beauty salons, Boots (pharmacy & beauty), the newly re-furbished library and young people's centre, estate agents and gift shops all within a half-mile radius. Local events, great links & top sporting venues
On Saturdays there are outdoor events on The Croquet Lawn opposite Central Avenue, either a Farmers' Market or a group stalls selling plants or a gift and craft fair. The area is quiet and safe, with plenty of things for people of all ages to do. Despite being so close to a big city, West Bridgford has a lovely community feel, and we encourage all of our guests to us eh local independent shops as much as is possible as we are very proud of what they do & feel that it is them that make our town community what it is today.
Local transport links are great, there are a number of regular buses that will take you into Nottingham City Centre - or further afield - and several taxi companies cover the area. It's about 5 minutes by bus / taxi to Nottingham train station and 10 minutes into Nottingham City Centre and main business hub. The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport, 12 miles from the centre of West Bridgford.
If you're a sports fan the area is perfect, hosting three famous sporting venues, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham Forest's City Ground and just across the river Trent is Nottinghamshire County FC. These are all less than 10 minutes walk away from the location of the serviced apartments.
