What time do I check in / out?
As standard, our guests are all asked to check in after 3pm and check out before 10am on their day of departure in order that the housekeeping staff can prepare the room for the next guests arrival.
We do try to be as flexible as possible within this. So, if your apartment is not occupied the night before you arrive then we will allow an early check in as long as you let us know and of course if your apartment is not going to be occupied the same day as you leave we may be able to be flexible about your leaving time too.
All of our properties have key safes (which are accredited for this purpose by the police and insurance companies) outside the properties in order that guests can self check in and we ask that guests leave their keys on departure in the same place. This also means that if a guest is arriving from overseas or for any other reason at an unusual hour we can still accommodate them for the night that they arrive by using the key safe system. This can be especially useful when flights come into London in the evening and guests arrive in West Bridgford quite late.
We are always on duty here at Nook & Cranny, and even with the self check in, if there are any problems or confusion we can easily be contacted by text or email, and we can usually get to your reasonably quickly.
Will my apartment be cleaned and my bedding and towels be changed?
We have a fabulous housekeeping team who keep on top of all the cleaning, laundry and supplies in all of our serviced apartments. You will recognise them by their bright pink uniforms and their happy smiles.
They turn up once per week (a week after you moved in), they clean throughout, take away the bedding, towels, bath mats and tea towels replacing them with fresh ones.
They also fill up on bathroom & kitchen essentials before you arrive in order to keep you going until you can get to the local shops or order your internet delivery of groceries.
I love to cook healthily for myself - will I be able to cook properly in my apartment?
All of our flats have fully equipped kitchens with good quality pots, pans, utensils and equipment.
If there is anything which you reasonably request over and above the existing kitchen we will be more than happy to consider purchasing it for you, and if we think it's a great idea then we often purchase one for every flat, and credit you with the idea.
The idea is that we wish to delight you.
All flats have toasters, kettles, Nespresso machines, microwaves, teapots, colanders, garlic crushers, tin openers, sharp knives, good quality plates, glasses mugs, pizza rollers, bottle/can openers ( I can't believe I didn't put that first!), vases for flowers, etc etc.
Check in the details of the flat that you are particularly looking to to see if it has certain other items like a dishwasher - some do, and some don't.
Will I be able to do my own laundry?
All of our flats are complete with washer/dryers so that you can quickly and easily perform those necessary tasks like the washing during your stay, or set it to go when you leave for the day and it will be ready when you come back in.
If you would rather have your laundry picked up and delivered back clean and pressed, then I would call our local dry cleaner who will be able to arrange that for you with ease.
We also provide an iron and ironing board for your use, should you wish to partake!
Does my apartment come with parking, and what is the cost?
All our apartments come with parking right outside the property. There is no charge for this, it is free.
Some of our apartments are near very popular sports stadia like Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham Forest & Nottingham Panthers. For these apartments, in order to keep your space from being used by an over enthusiastic fan, we provide parking posts which you can lock whilst you are away. This is only really necessary during Test Matches and sometimes big Forest football matches, but it is there to ensure that the space is there for you when you need it.
Is my wifi fast and simple to use and what will it cost?
Here at Nook & Cranny we care. We've travelled to far flung places ourselves and we do not like hotels which make you log in &/or pay for wifi and sometimes even limit your usage. You will have unlimited, fast free wifi and an easy way to log in which is automatic, and simple so that you can log your iPad into your Netflix account and carry on where you left off on your latest favourite box set, or download a film to your laptop. Of course the TV has a DVD player too so you may just settle down to a movie the old fashioned way which is perfectly fine too. Email & surfing, are, of course easy to do too, but we try to encourage you relax after your hard days work.
And what are the hidden costs?
We believe in charging a fair price for a service which will impress you. Once you have paid your weekly rate there will be no other costs to pay for anything which Nook & Cranny provides. No hidden costs - nil, zip, none!

I need accommodation between selling my home and buying another, can you help?
Plenty of our guests are people who need accommodation for a stage of their lives when they have sold their home but not bought another yet for whatever reason. Many guests are referred to us by Estate Agents & Conveyancing solicitors exactly for this purpose.
So much so that we wrote them their own page on the subject.
I have a specific requirement, can you cater for me?
We like to think that communication is one of the keys to keeping happy guests who tell the world how great we are. So if you have a specific requirement we will certainly see what we can do. We have a storage facility which includes cots and high chairs, so these are always available if requested in advance, other items may take a little more planning, but ask away.... we love nothing more than a challenge!
I need to have wheelchair access, can you accommodate me?
As I type we have one flat with disabled access but we are building 2 more, all of them have 2 bedrooms, car parking, a ramp and rail to the front door (where necessary) and the wheelchair users who have used the Cricket Heaven have been delighted with it. You might like to read the blog about this subject. We now have more properties which can be described as wheelchair accessible depending on your needs so feel free to ask any more specific questions.
Do you have to charge me VAT for my stay in your serviced apartment?
From June 1st 2016 Nook & Cranny is VAT registered. Our VAT Registration number can be found at the foot of every page.
This means that we have to charge VAT on some of our properties but prices quotes are inclusive of VAT.
Please make an enquiry if you wish to know whether the flat which you are booking is subject to VAT.
When propitious are subject to VAT the rate is 20% for the first 28 days of any individual's stay and then 4% thereafter assuming that the same person is using the accommodation. Business which are VAT registered can, of course, claim this back.
