On the buses
Earlier this year Nottingham City Transport (NCT) scored the highest satisfaction level (97%) among passengers of any bus operator in the UK. We talked a bit about our wonderful public transport in our alternative survival guide post back in May, so we're not lying! The survey looked at how customers rated bus travel for things like being able to get a seat, cleanliness, friendliness of the driver, whether they felt safe on them, punctuality and service frequency – and NCT came out on top.
Top trams and trains too
In May this year, the tram network – run appropriately by NET (Nottingham Express Transit) – was voted the "best loved" in the UK too with a 98% satisfaction rate. You can't get much better than that! Trams run right through the city centre from Clifton and Wilford (near West Bridgford) all the way up to Hucknall, and out beyond Beeston to Toton Lane. And they link up with seven Park + Rides so everyone can access the network.
Nottingham railway station (less than two miles from our apartments) recently had a dramatic facelift and the building looks fantastic, but more importantly it only takes 1 hour 45 minutes to get to St. Pancras from Nottingham, it's exactly the same amount of time to get to Manchester if you're heading to a meeting in the opposite direction.
All of our gorgeous apartments are in central West Bridgford so if you work in the city centre you won't even need to hop on a bus to get there, you can walk in (which we think is the perfect start to the day). The station is less than 2 miles from our properties, and there are lots of buses (numbers 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 stop on Central Avenue in West Bridgford) that will take you into the city in a few minutes.
And, if you need your car, all of our apartments have a car parking space right outside so you can choose to drive, bus it, take the tram or walk, whichever is best for you.
