Remember, Remember the 5th of November... It's Bonfire Night!

It's Bonfire Night this Saturday 5th November, have you decided where you're going to watch the fireworks? There are loads of events to choose from in Notts so we thought we'd help out with a quick guide to the best bonfire parties to go to.

Wilford Village
Wilford Village hosts Nottingham's BIGGEST charity firework display and this year it's in aid of Rainbows children's hospice. If you're staying in one of our apartments, Wilford is pretty much on your doorstep, you can easily walk there along the river from central West Bridgford, or it's a 5-minute drive.

The bonfire will be on Nottingham Moderns Rugby Ground next to the tram stop between the Ferry Inn and the Toll Bridge (it'll be pretty hard to miss!). And there'll be two firework displays, a hog roast, plenty of real ale, and live music from local bands Terminal 5 Experience and Homesick.

Timings:
5.00p.m. Gates and Hog Roast & Real Ale Marquee open, and music starts
6.15p.m. Lighting of the bonfire
6.45p.m. Children's Fantasy Fireworks
8.30p.m. Guy Fawkes Fireworks Crescendo

Tickets:
If you're quick you can still get tickets in advance (until Friday 4th November) either online at www.wilfordfireworks.org or from Wilford Co-Op, West Bridgford Co-Op, Ferry Inn pub, Rivermead Stores, MSR News (opposite Trent Bridge Inn) or Trent Stores (Meadows).

They cost: £17 for a Family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children), £8 Adult, £3 Child (under-16), £5 Student,£20 Student Group (up to 5 students).

Or buy them on the gate: £20 for a Family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children), £10 Adult, £5 Child (under-16), £5 Student, £20 Student Group (up to 5 students).

Forest Recreation Ground
If you fancy heading into town on Saturday night you might want to check out the FREE firework display at Forest Recreation Ground (next to the A60, north of the centre of Nottingham). Held every year, it's absolutely free to go to but be warned, it's popular! The organisers are expecting upwards of 40,000 people so leave your car at home and jump on a bus or tram instead (nearest tram stop is The Forest). There'll be two firework displays, oodles of food at all sorts of food stalls, hot drinks (no alcohol) and fairground rides.

For travel info check out our blog with all the details you need to get around Nottingham.

Timings:
5.30p.m. Gates, fairground and food stalls open
7.15p.m. Children's firework display
7.45p.m. Bonfire lit
9.00p.m. Main firework display
10.30p.m. Everything closes

Tickets:
It's free! Just turn up.

Riverbank Bar & Kitchen, West Bridgford
If you don't fancy heading into town and you don't have kids there's another great bonfire party within walking distance of central West Bridgford at the Riverbank Bar and Kitchen, just across Trent Bridge. It's  for adults only and entry includes a barbecue on the terrace overlooking the river, live music, bonfire cocktails, a DJ, a firework display and (because this is Nottingham!) mushy peas!

Timings:
8.00p.m. Doors open
10.30p.m. Firework display
10.45p.m. Live music from The Soul Outlaws, followed by DJ Damian Wells on the decks
2.00a.m. Party ends

Tickets:
£5 each. You can buy them here.

If hotdogs, sparklers and fireworks aren't your thing there are plenty of other places to head out this Saturday night. We've got too many great places to eat to mention – but here are a few vibrant, edgy, buzzing and new eateries in our blog – or if live music is your thing check out our brilliant music scene in Nottingham rocks for music venues.

We've got our night planned, with a fire bowl, fireside treats, friends and family at the ready, whatever you get up to and wherever you go have a brilliant night! And if you need our help recommending more places to go out while you're staying with us, or you'd like to know more about our gorgeous short-term lets drop us a line. Have fun!
