Summer Nights AT Clumber Park ON 4th & 5th August
Watching a movie + being outdoors = the perfect way to spend an evening. There are two outdoor screenings at Clumber Park – Dirty Dancing (surely one of the best movies ever made) and rather appropriately – Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves. Buy tickets

City Ride Cycling Event AT River Trent & Victoria Embankment ON 18th June
As part of an initiative to get 2 million people cycling by 2020, Nottingham is hosting a City Ride event. The nearby streets will be closed to let cyclists take over and everyone is welcome. Register here
Great Notts Bike Ride AT Nottingham & local area ON 25th June
This one is for more serious cyclists and is a brilliant way to raise money for your local charity. There are 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 mile routes. But the 75 and 125 ones have sold out already so get signed up soon! More info
City of Nottingham Triathlon & British Triathlon Relay Cup AT Victoria Embankment ON 2nd September
Two very exciting events you can watch just a stone's throw away from the centre of West Bridgford. The Brownlee brothers are going to be competing for the cup – sounds like a must-watch to us – or if you're super-fit you can still enter. Find out more
UK Corporate Games AT Various locations in & around Nottingham ON 6th – 9th July
This is another must-see we're really excited about: the UK Corporate Games, where individuals and teams take part on behalf of their companies. You can catch pretty much any sport, there's golf, netball, cycling, dragon boating, badminton, basketball, rugby, hockey... And all this too

While we're talking about the water sports centre at Holme Pierrepont it seems wrong not mention all the things you can get involved in there. There's paddle-boarding, a sky trail, white water rafting, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, open water swimming... perfect for these long, hot summer days.
No sporting events run-down for Nottingham would be complete without mentioning...

Whether you prefer the thrill of a 20:20 or to spend the whole day enjoying your cricket, there are numerous matches at our local cricket ground (walkable from our apartments, which is one reason we've got several professional cricketers staying with us for the third year running while they're playing here). Castle Rock's 40th Yard Party & Beer Festival AT Queensbridge Road ON 31st May – 3rd June
Our favourite brewery turns 40 this year and to celebrate they're going to party even harder than usual for a few days. If you want to celebrate with them and partake of some local ale – there'll be about 50 to choose from – here are the details.
Proms in the Park AT Bridgford Park ON 24th June
As part of the Armed Forces Day celebrations, Rushcliffe Borough Council is putting on an open air concert all day and evening in our lovely local park. Take a picnic and enjoy! More info
Splendour AT Wollaton Hall ON 22nd July
Splendour is our BIG one-day local festival with music to suit all tastes and ages... the Kaiser Chiefs are headlining, plus Busted will be there, as well as Tony Hadley, Billy Ocean and the Buzzcocks (for those of us who are old enough to remember them!). Details & tickets
Gloworm Festival AT Clumber Park ON 19th – 20th August
